Description
Zoom on the Craftsman CMCBL730P1
With its cordless handheld design, the Craftsman CMCBL730P1 is appropriate for homeowners with home properties that are not too small or too large, often in the quarter- to half-acre range.
It is rated for a maximum air volume of 410 cubic feet per minute (CFM) and a maximum air speed of 110 miles per hour (MPH). This balance means the blower is suitable for light clearing across small yards, patios, driveways, or garden paths.
The CMCBL730P1 is equipped with a 20V brushless motor and runs on battery power, enabling mobility without a cord. It comes with one 5.0Ah battery which can provide up to 24 minutes of runtime on a full charge.
Thanks to its variable speed settings, the Craftsman CMCBL730P1 allows precise control of the air output.
This cordless handheld blower weighs 6.6 lbs without the battery and 9.2 lbs with it, enabling one-handed control of airflow. The CMCBL730P1 is compatible with Craftsman’s VersaTrack™ wall storage system.

The Craftsman CMCBL730P1's performance versus other blowers
The following charts are provided to give you an idea how the key specs of the Craftsman CMCBL730P1 compare with handheld leaf blowers of similar voltage (between 18 and 24V).
- The Craftsman CMCBL730P1 carries a heavier bare tool build than many cordless handheld blowers in the 18 to 24V range, weighing 6.6 lbs. To enjoy the lowest possible weight in this category, you could have a look at the Worx WG543 which is only 2.3 lbs the bare tool.
- Its max air speed of 110 MPH places it at the approximate midpoint in comparison to other battery-operated handheld blowers between 18 and 24V. If you wish to benefit from air expelled at the fastest possible speed, the Makita XBU07SM1 and its 143 MPH could be an option to consider.
- The CMCBL730P1 is powerful, with an airflow rating of 410 CFM (cubic feet per minute). This is certainly on the high end compared to other cordless handheld blowers with a comparable voltage. If air volume is important to you, the Dewalt DCBL724W1, with 550 CFM, could be in your good books.
- Within the voltage range of 18V to 24V, the CMCBL730P1's autonomy of up to 24 minutes on a full charge is typical for cordless handheld units. If autonomy is an important factor for you, the Ryobi PBLLB01K can run for up to 60 minutes and could be worth considering.
- Because larger batteries naturally increase runtime, it can be helpful to consider runtime efficiency, a measure of how effectively a blower uses the energy available. In terms of runtime efficiency, the Craftsman CMCBL730P1 ranks on the lower side, delivering less runtime per unit of battery capacity than many comparable battery-powered handheld blowers. If you are focused on getting more use per charge, the Sun Joe 24V-JB-LTE offers the highest runtime efficiency, at 1.04 minutes per Wh.
Price comparison
As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 18-24V cordless blowers, the Craftsman CMCBL730P1 is on the cheap side of the price range.
It can therefore be a really good buy if you're looking to acquire a budget blower.
The bottom line
- Inexpensive
- Brushless motor
- High CFM for its voltage
- Decent MPH (110 MPH)
- Good autonomy (24 mins)
- No cruise control
- High bare tool weight (6.6 lbs)
- Low power efficiency

About Craftsman
Craftsman is a label which traces its roots to 1927, when it was first registered by the Sears department store. The brand has been only recently acquired by Stanley Black & Decker. Their products seem to be assembled in the US, from materials that are sourced abroad. Their selection features a wide range of lawn keeping equipment, including several leaf blowers. Little by little, Craftsman are diversifying their leaf blower offers. Craftsman blowers used to be exclusively handheld and electrically powered, but we now see backpack and gas-powered models. Both their price and specs range from the lower to middle tier.
Warranty Information
The Craftsman CMCBL730P1 is covered under a warranty for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the blower.

User Reviews
I purchased mine as a combo kit from Lowes on their Labor day sale for $199. If you purchased the kit you received a 4ah battery for free along with it. It was the best deal I could find for a brushless blower and trimmer. I took the blower out of the box and put the tube in and it would not lock in. just would fall out. I looked and noticed the spring catch system to hold it had no tension on it. Quickly disappointed I took it back to Lowes showed them the defect and they swapped it out for me. I used the new trimmer and blower on my grass. About 5 minutes in on blowing off my sidewalks, porch and patio the tube falls out. The spring catch is broken already. Craftsman is sending me a replacement. It will take 2-3 weeks. Is it going to have the same issue after 1 or 2 uses? Still to be determined. Maybe Lowes received a bad batch. Has anyone else had this issue?
