With its gas walk-behind design, the DR X20 MAXSP is suited for landscaping professionals working across several client grounds.
It provides a maximum air volume rating of 2000 cubic feet per minute (CFM) and an air speed of up to 200 miles per hour (MPH). To put it simply, it combines airflow and speed to move leaves and small debris effectively over wide areas.
Equipped with a 301-cc 4-stroke DR engine, this blower runs on gasoline. The engine comes with a traditional recoil starter and also offers electric start (battery included). The fuel tank has a capacity of 1.43 gal.
In order to afford more control to the user, this unit has a variable speed control. No matter the size of the job, the user can adjust the airflow of the DR X20 MAXSP to match.
This walk-behind blower weighs 177 lbs and allows the user to cover large areas from a standing position without carrying the unit. The unit features two 12" pneumatic wheels at the back, as a well as a front wheel that unfortunately does not swivel (swivel wheel accessory available as a separate purchase). That said, the lack of swivel wheel can't be seen as a dealbreaker, since the machine benefits from DR's EZ-Turn steering technology (more about it below). This push blower is also self-propelled, a feature that makes pushing it around easy despite its 177 lbs. A lever located near the handle bar can be held at different locations between fully depressed and fully released to vary traction speeds as needed.
DR's EZ-Turn™ Steering technology makes cornering easy, without the need for a swivel wheel. Each of the machine's axles drives independently, so you never have to manhandle the unit to make tight, 180° turns.
The unit allows the user to fully control the air stream direction, directly from the handle. With 50° of vertical nozzle rotation, it is possible to either aim low to dislodge wet or matted materials, or high to blow dry materials farther. In addition to that, airflow can also be laterally adjusted over 180°. The operator can decide to blow to their right, their front, their left, or anywhere in between.

User Reviews
After 1 hour, it was obvious my backpack blower is way more powerful than this unit (which I see is now discontinued). Authorized repair shop verified unit was working as designed…and very weak. Contacted DR Power customer service, who said “We will not take it back since you’ve put oil and gas in it. Put it up on Craig’s list. Lie about how good it is.”
Customer service said: “We used to have a 6 month guarantee but we dropped it.”
Ended up having my credit card go after them, and I got a full refund.
