Zoom on the DR X20 MAXSP
With its gas walk-behind design, the DR X20 MAXSP is best suited to professionals working across several client grounds.
It features a maximum air speed of 200 MPH and a maximum air volume rating of 2000 cubic feet per minute (CFM). Practically, this means the blower should handle dense leaves or light piles efficiently across large lawns, estates, or park grounds.
The X20 MAXSP features a 301-cc 4-stroke DR engine. The engine comes with a traditional recoil starter and also offers electric start (battery included). The fuel tank has a capacity of 1.43 gal.
Sometimes you just need a little more power, while other times you may want a little more precision when moving leaves and debris. That’s why the X20 MAXSP features variable speed settings for added control.
With its walk-behind design and a weight of 177 lbs, the blower is guided along the ground, making it suitable for expansive lawns or driveways. The unit features two 12" pneumatic wheels at the back, as a well as a front wheel that unfortunately does not swivel (swivel wheel accessory available as a separate purchase). That said, the lack of swivel wheel can't be seen as a dealbreaker, since the machine benefits from DR's EZ-Turn steering technology (more about it below). This push blower is also self-propelled, a feature that makes pushing it around easy despite its 177 lbs. A lever located near the handle bar can be held at different locations between fully depressed and fully released to vary traction speeds as needed.
DR's EZ-Turn™ Steering technology makes cornering easy, without the need for a swivel wheel. Each of the machine's axles drives independently, so you never have to manhandle the unit to make tight, 180° turns.
The unit allows the user to fully control the air stream direction, directly from the handle. With 50° of vertical nozzle rotation, it is possible to either aim low to dislodge wet or matted materials, or high to blow dry materials farther. In addition to that, airflow can also be laterally adjusted over 180°. The operator can decide to blow to their right, their front, their left, or anywhere in between.

- The DR X20 MAXSP tips the scales at 177 lbs, making it one of the heavier gas-powered walk-behind blowers. To enjoy the lowest possible weight in this category, you could have a look at the Billy Goat F602X which is only 83 lbs.
- Forced air exiting this blower has been clocked at a max speed of 200 MPH. This places the X20 MAXSP at the forefront in terms of air speed among gas-powered walk-behind blowers.
- Regarding its air volume, the airflow of the DR X20 MAXSP can reach 2000 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute), which is on par with other gas-powered walk-behind blowers. If air volume is important to you, the Billy Goat F1802SPV, with 2900 CFM, could be in your good books.

User Reviews
After 1 hour, it was obvious my backpack blower is way more powerful than this unit (which I see is now discontinued). Authorized repair shop verified unit was working as designed…and very weak. Contacted DR Power customer service, who said “We will not take it back since you’ve put oil and gas in it. Put it up on Craig’s list. Lie about how good it is.”
Customer service said: “We used to have a 6 month guarantee but we dropped it.”
Ended up having my credit card go after them, and I got a full refund.
