Zoom on the EGO LBX6000

The EGO LBX6000 in use

The EGO LBX6000

With its cordless handheld design, the EGO LBX6000 is suited for homeowners with larger home grounds ranging from half-acre lawns to multi-acre estates.

It is capable of expelling a maximum air volume of 600 cubic feet per minute (CFM). Its air speed is rated at 170 MPH. To put it simply, it combines strong airflow to move piles of leaves in the yard with enough force to clear heavier material such as pine needles or acorns from patios and walkways.

Featuring a 56V brushless motor, the unit provides cordless operation, allowing you to operate with great mobility. The EGO LBX6000 is exclusively powered by EGO's BAX1501 backpack battery (opens in a new tab) or the BHX1001 Backpack Link (opens in a new tab), which are not included with the unit. When using the BAX1501 battery, the blower can provide a maximum of 96 minutes of runtime.

Featuring 5 speed settings, the LBX6000 offers users flexibility in adjusting airflow.

At 5.95 lbs, the blower’s handheld design lets the operator lift and aim it with one hand. When using a BAX1501 battery, the total weight of the blower reaches around 25.75 lbs. Additionally, since the battery is carried on the back of the operator, an important chunk of weight is taken off the blower, which greatly improves balance and comfort of use.

The EGO LBX6000 carries an IPX5 rating, which protects it from low-pressure water jets, handy when clearing wet leaves or working near sprinklers.

The EGO LBX6000's performance versus other blowers

The following charts are provided to give you an idea how the key specs of the EGO LBX6000 compare with handheld leaf blowers of similar voltage (between 56 and 60V).

Important: All figures are based on published specifications. Because manufacturers may test at different power levels or under different conditions, use the autonomy/runtime efficiency figures as a guideline only. Runtime and efficiency values are based on the use with the BAX1501 battery.
  • Among other cordless handheld blowers in the 56 to 60V range, the EGO LBX6000 has a typical weight of 5.95 lbs. Should weight be a deciding factor, the EGO LB7654 is worth a look at just 4.6 lbs the bare tool.
  • Air exiting the nozzle of this blower can reach 170 MPH, which is quite a bit faster than most battery-operated handheld blowers between 56 and 60V. If you wish to benefit from air expelled at the fastest possible speed, the EGO LB8803-2 and its 200 MPH could be an option to consider.
  • At 600 CFM (cubic feet per minute), its airflow output is modest compared to other cordless handheld blowers with a comparable voltage. For the highest air volume, you may want to have a look at the EGO LBX1000, which boasts with 1000 CFM.
  • Its battery is standard in terms of autonomy for a cordless handheld product that runs on this kind of voltage. Fully charged, it should run for up to 96 minutes. If autonomy is an important factor for you, the Echo DPB-2610 can run for up to 175 minutes and could be worth considering.
  • Runtime alone doesn’t always tell the full story because it depends heavily on battery capacity. Runtime efficiency can give a clearer picture by showing how much work you get per unit of battery power. In terms of runtime efficiency, the EGO LBX6000 ranks on the lower side, delivering less runtime per unit of battery capacity than many comparable battery-powered handheld blowers. If you are focused on getting more use per charge, the Echo DPB-2500 offers the highest runtime efficiency, at 0.64 minutes per Wh.
According to our stats, the following comparison is pretty popular: EGO POWER+ LBX6000 vs EGO LB6504.

Price comparison

As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 56-60V cordless blowers, the EGO LBX6000 is on the cheap side of the price range.

It can therefore be a really good buy if you're looking to acquire a budget blower.

POWER+ Battery Technology

EGO's POWER+ technology is based on a high-end patented ARC Lithium™ design which utilizes a third row of cells to achieve high-voltage performance. Combined with a revolutionary phase-change material which envelopes each cell, the arc-design of the cell's arrangement allows for more efficient cooling and an optimum power distribution across all rows of cells. This technology also embeds a patented power management system that monitors and optimizes each individual battery cell to maximize its power, performance, and runtime. Moreover, the battery casing is completely sealed and has an enhanced shock and weather resistivity. Thus, the battery is protected from drops, rain and the elements.
