Description

The Husqvarna 130BT is a unique lightweight back pack blower with the large landowner in mind. It combines very low weight and ease of use for those who have to work for longer periods of time. Features include a new X-Torq® engine for increased power, better fuel economy and reduced emissions. Harness and tube-mounted controls improve operational ergonomics.

Overview of the Husqvarna 130BT

The Husqvarna 130BT in use

The Husqvarna 130BT

  • Power: The Husqvarna 130BT is a gas-powered blower with a maximum air volume rating of 360 cubic feet per minute (CFM) and an air speed of 145 MPH.
  • Handling: Like most backpack blowers, this model is technically heavier than a handheld. That being said, it can feel lighter and more comfortable because of the way it is carried, even when used over extended periods of time. Its throttle is located on the tube, which allows you to keep your left hand free. Among other gas-powered backpack blowers, the Husqvarna 130BT can be considered light, weighing only 14.55 lbs.
  • Engine: Its X-Torq® engine boasts a displacement of 29.5 cc. Being that this is a 2-stroke engine, it must be fuelled using a mix of gas and oil. The proper fuel ratio set by the manufacturer for the 130BT is 50:1.
  • Speed Settings: With its variable speed settings, the Husqvarna 130BT allows you to precisely control its air output. In addition, the blower is also equipped with cruise control, with which the user can easily maintain the selected settings.
  • Noise: With a decibel rating of 91 dB, the 130BT is neither louder nor quieter than its rivals in the gas-powered backpack category.
  • Fuel Tank: The fuel tank has a capacity of 28.16 fl. oz. Although this is not especially impressive for a backpack blower, it allows the unit to maintain a decent overall weight, making it more portable and comfortable to use.
  • X-Torq®: The X-Torq® is Husqvarna's latest technology for two-stroke engines. It reduces fuel consumption by up to 20% and harmful exhaust emissions by up to 60% while increasing torque over a wider rpm range.

The Husqvarna 130BT's performance versus other blowers

The following charts are provided to give you an idea how the key specs of the Husqvarna 130BT compare with similar leaf blowers.

  • The air speed of the Husqvarna 130BT maxes out at 145 MPH. While more than adequate for many jobs, its air speed is below average among other gas-powered backpack blowers. For the fastest air speed in this category, you may want to consider the Husqvarna 150BT, which can expell air at a velocity that can reach 251 MPH.
  • Its max air volume rating (360 cubic feet per minute) means it is really not the biggest air producer of gas-powered backpack blowers. For the highest air volume, you may want to have a look at the Shindaiwa EB910RT, which boasts with 1110 CFM.

Price comparison

As you can see from this interactive chart, when compared to other gas backpack blowers, the Husqvarna 130BT is on the cheap side of the price range.

It can therefore be a really good buy if you're looking to acquire a budget blower.
