Overview of the Husqvarna 580BTS Mark II

The Husqvarna 580BTS Mark II in use

The Husqvarna 580BTS Mark II

  • Power: The 580BTS Mark II, built by Husqvarna, is a gas-powered leaf blower capable of expelling a maximum air volume of 941 cubic feet per minute (CFM). Its air speed is rated at 206 MPH.
  • Handling: By design, this model isn’t the smallest leaf blower on the market. It’s meant to be carried as a backpack so that the bulk of the unit is out of the way and the user’s hands are free to manipulate the nozzle. Its throttle is located on the tube, which allows you to keep your left hand free. Be aware that, at 26.3 lbs, the Husqvarna 580BTS Mark II is on the heavier side for gas-powered backpack blowers.
  • Engine: This blower's X-Torq® engine has a displacement specification of 75.6 cc. As you may or may not know, 2-stroke engines require a mixture of gasoline and oil in order to keep all the moving parts lubricated while fuelling the engine’s internal combustion. The fuel/oil ratio recommended by Husqvarna for the 580BTS Mark II is 50:1.
  • Speed Settings: To provide more control over their job to the user, the unit has a variable speed control setting. No matter the size of the job, the user can adjust the airflow of the Husqvarna 580BTS Mark II to match it. On top of that, maintaining the selected speed is effortless, as it also features cruise control.
  • Noise: The manufacturer specifications state that the 580BTS Mark II can generate engine noise approaching 112 dB. This is louder than other gas-powered backpack leaf blowers.
  • Fuel Tank: The fuel tank is well above average for a backpack blower – its capacity maxes out at 87.9 fl. oz.
  • X-Torq®: The X-Torq® is Husqvarna's latest technology for two-stroke engines. It reduces fuel consumption by up to 20% and harmful exhaust emissions by up to 60% while increasing torque over a wider rpm range.
