The Makita XBU03SM1's performance versus other blowers
The following charts are provided to give you an idea how the key specs of the Makita XBU03SM1 compare with handheld leaf blowers of similar voltage (between 18 and 24V).
- The Makita XBU03SM1 fits squarely within the average bare tool weight range for cordless handheld blowers in the 18 to 24V range, at 4.6 lbs. Should weight be a deciding factor, the Worx WG543 is worth a look at just 2.3 lbs the bare tool.
- Upon exiting the nozzle, the air can reach speeds of up to 116 MPH, which is pretty much what is to be expected for battery-operated handheld blowers between 18 and 24V. If you wish to benefit from air expelled at the fastest possible speed, the Makita XBU07SM1 and its 143 MPH could be an option to consider.
- For those prioritizing air volume, the Makita's XBU03SM1 delivers with a maximum airflow of 459 CFM (cubic feet per minute), surpassing most cordless handheld blowers with a comparable voltage. If air volume is important to you, the Dewalt DCBL724W1, with 550 CFM, could be in your good books.
- Within the voltage range of 18V to 24V, the XBU03SM1's autonomy of up to 30 minutes on a full charge is typical for cordless handheld units. If autonomy is an important factor for you, the Ryobi PBLLB01K can run for up to 60 minutes and could be worth considering.
- While runtime is an important metric, it is closely tied to battery capacity. To understand performance more clearly, it’s also useful to look at runtime efficiency, how long the unit runs relative to its battery size. The Makita XBU03SM1 delivers a typical level of runtime efficiency, offering a balanced amount of operation time per unit of battery capacity. If runtime efficiency matters most to you, you might look at the Sun Joe 24V-JB-LTE, which delivers a higher runtime efficiency of 1.04 minutes per Wh.
Price comparison
As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 18-24V cordless blowers, the Makita XBU03SM1 is on the average side of the price range.
Therefore, this blower nicely fits in the expected budget for this kind of product.
