Description
Covered by Hitachi's industry leading 7-year Consumer warranty, the RB24EAP hand held blower is one of the lightest (8.6 lbs) and most powerful (at 441 CFM) blowers in its class. Available to both homeowners and professionals, the RB24EAP features a purge primer for quick and simple starts, a low emission PureFire engine and a large two finger throttle for easier operation. The exceptional balance and light weight make it ideal for small clean up, while it has the power to handle larger yard work.
Zoom on the Hitachi RB24EAP
The Hitachi RB24EAP is a gas handheld blower that is mostly aimed at homeowners with smaller home areas like patios, walkways, or compact front and back lawns under a quarter acre.
Its maximum output is 441 CFM of air volume and 170 MPH of air speed. For the user, this translates into a blower that should move leaves effectively across lawn sections and hard surfaces, while also being capable of shifting compacted leaves or light yard debris like twigs.
The RB24EAP features a 23.9-cc 2-stroke PureFire® engine and runs on a 50:1 fuel-to-oil mixture. Its fuel tank of 17.6 fl. oz. provides more capacity than many gas handheld blowers of the same type.
For those who are keen on having complete control while operating their leaf blower, the RB24EAP offers variable speed settings.
With a dry weight of 8.6 lbs, this handheld unit enables one-handed use during operation.

The Hitachi RB24EAP's performance versus other blowers
The following charts are provided to give you an idea how the key specs of the Hitachi RB24EAP compare with similar leaf blowers.
- Among other gas-powered handheld blowers, the Hitachi RB24EAP can be considered light, weighing only 8.6 lbs. Should weight be a deciding factor, the Stihl BG 50 is worth a look at just 7.9 lbs.
- Its max air speed of 170 MPH places it at the approximate midpoint in comparison to other gas-powered handheld blowers. If you wish to benefit from air expelled at the fastest possible speed, the Poulan Pro PPBV25 and its 230 MPH could be an option to consider.
- The RB24EAP is average in terms of air volume. It's rated at 441 CFM, which is common for gas-powered handheld blowers. If air volume is important to you, the Ryobi JET FAN RY25AXB, with 520 CFM, could be in your good books.
Here's a list of the most popular specific comparisons:

User Reviews
The best $140 I ever spent. Was $10 cheaper than the Husky 125b I had wanted and had a 7 year warranty. ALWAYS a one pull wonder, if you fast enough on the choke. This thing has lived maybe, maybe 1 of those 12 years in the garage rest have been in the yard out in the weather,. Sun, rain, sleet and snow. Toughest anything except my old 25 Evinrude I have ever owned. One rewind spring, couple air filters, a.gas hose n bubble of two and one carb kit later. Can’t kill it. 32:1 mix non ethanol gas. Original plug.
I have a NOS 1996 weed eater barracuda that is 4 lb heavier, not as strong AND the rewind spring has already Amber Heard’ed the bed after only 2 months outside.
Most reliable blower I’ve had in 50 years. Don’t hesitate to purchase.
I’ve owned quite a few 2 stoke blowers, but my Hitachi is by far my favorite. Light, Easy to start, Came with a 7 year warranty(haven’t needed it !! ), and relatively powerful. People tend to focus on cfm and mph – but if the blower doesn’t put the airflow where you need it you’re stuck with a gas powered noisy fan. My Hitachi performs way above its class. Wish they were still available………
I purchased my first HITACHI RB24EAP 5 years ago and loved it then and love it now. It is a marvelous blower.. Here is my experiencs…it blows a lot of fast air, it is lightweight and most importantly, it cranks easily. It starts on the second or third pull. Like the review from JT, I used non-ethanol gas and plenty of oil. I also keep the blower in a storage room, out of the weather.
3 years ago, we bought one for our lake house and it too has given us very good service.
This blower is the best we have ever owned. Thank you Hitachi for building a good product.
I love mine. It starts with 3 pulls every time. I bought it in 2012. What do I consider the reason it has lasted so long? 1. A very gracious ratio of oil to to gasoline. 2. I always use and have used ethanol free gasoline. 3. Sta-bil fuel stabilizer in my gas…always …and I make sure any gas left at seasons end becomes weed killer, not fuel for my yard equip. If you own this little toy then count yourself, lucky.
This blower is the best I have owned!
I’ve had my Hitchi RB24EAP leaf blower now for 12 years and still running strong. Its a 5 star if I’ve ever seen one, and I’ve had a few over the years. I love this thing, I’ve never had a blower last this long and it just keeps firing up easily every time. Even though I didnt need another one, I decided I’d buy another one just as a backup. I just figured since it was so old, it would eventually die. Its been so reliable, best to get another. Well to my disappointment, they are no longer available.
I’ve owned mine going on for years and it works perfectly by the way
