Zoom on the Hitachi Tanaka THB-260PF
With its gas handheld design, the Hitachi Tanaka THB-260PF is mostly aimed at homeowners with a patio or small yard that does not require frequent or large-scale cleanup.
It provides a maximum air volume rating of 393 cubic feet per minute (CFM) and an air speed of up to 180 miles per hour (MPH). These values mean that it should manage everyday yard leaves rather efficiently, but also have the power to handle denser material or small piles of heavier debris across lawns, patios, and garden paths.
The Tanaka THB-260PF features a 25-cc 2-stroke engine and runs on a 50:1 fuel-to-oil mixture. With a 20.3 fl. oz. fuel tank, this gas handheld blower has the largest tank among its peers.
To provide more control over their job to the user, the unit has a variable speed control setting. No matter the size of the job, the user can adjust the airflow of the Hitachi Tanaka THB-260PF to match it. On top of that, maintaining the selected speed is effortless, as it also features cruise control.
This gas handheld blower weighs 10.9 lbs (dry) and can be steered with one hand for focused debris removal.
Beyond blowing, the Tanaka THB-260PF can switch to vacuum mode, making leaf cleanup easier by depositing leaves into a convenient bag (THV-260 (opens in a new tab) bag not included). With its vacuum function engaged, this mulcher’s mulching ratio of 14:1 can condense 14 bags of leaves into a single bag of mulch while in use.

- The Hitachi Tanaka THB-260PF tips the scales at 10.9 lbs, a weight that's typical for many gas-powered handheld blowers. Should weight be a deciding factor, the Stihl BG 50 is worth a look at just 7.9 lbs.

- Its airflow capacity, rated at 393 CFM (cubic feet per minute), positions it at the lower spectrum among gas-powered handheld blowers. For the highest air volume, you may want to have a look at the Ryobi JET FAN RY25AXB, which boasts with 520 CFM.
