Zoom on the Milwaukee 2724-21HD
With its cordless handheld design, the Milwaukee 2724-21HD is best suited to homeowners with properties with limited lawn space, typically less than a quarter acre.
It features a maximum air speed of 120 MPH and a maximum air volume rating of 450 cubic feet per minute (CFM). For the user, this translates to modest airflow, moving dry leaves and small debris around a yard, patio, or driveway.
This model comes with an 18V brushless motor, designed for cordless use and easy maneuvering. One 8.0Ah battery is included, and should provide up to 15 minutes of runtime when fully charged.
Sometimes you just need a little more power, while other times you may want a little more precision when moving leaves and debris. That’s why the 2724-21HD features variable speed settings for added control.
At 4.9 lbs (bare tool) and 7.3 lbs with the battery, the blower’s handheld design lets the operator lift and aim it with one hand.

The Milwaukee 2724-21HD's performance versus other blowers
The following charts are provided to give you an idea how the key specs of the Milwaukee 2724-21HD compare with handheld leaf blowers of similar voltage (between 18 and 24V).
- Compared to its counterparts, the Milwaukee 2724-21HD has a fairly standard bare tool weight at 4.9 lbs. Should weight be a deciding factor, the Worx WG543 is worth a look at just 2.3 lbs the bare tool.
- Upon exiting the nozzle, the air can reach speeds of up to 120 MPH, which is rather impressive for a battery-operated handheld blower between 18 and 24V. If you wish to benefit from air expelled at the fastest possible speed, the Makita XBU07SM1 and its 143 MPH could be an option to consider.
- If air volume is an important feature, the 2724-21HD by Milwaukee will not disappoint. Its airflow maxes out at 450 CFM (cubic feet per minute), which is more powerful than most cordless handheld blowers with a comparable voltage. If air volume is important to you, the Dewalt DCBL724W1, with 550 CFM, could be in your good books.
- Users can expect a maximum autonomy of 15 minutes from its battery, which means the 2724-21HD won't run as long as many other cordless handheld units before needing to be plugged in. To enjoy the best possible autonomy in this category, you could have a look at the Ryobi PBLLB01K which offers up to 60 minutes of runtime.
- Runtime alone doesn’t always tell the full story because it depends heavily on battery capacity. Runtime efficiency can give a clearer picture by showing how much work you get per unit of battery power. With its current setup, the Milwaukee 2724-21HD offers a lower level of runtime efficiency compared to the other compared battery-powered handheld models. If you are focused on getting more use per charge, the Sun Joe 24V-JB-LTE offers the highest runtime efficiency, at 1.04 minutes per Wh.
Price comparison
As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 18-24V cordless blowers, the Milwaukee 2724-21HD is on the average side of the price range.
Therefore, this blower nicely fits in the expected budget for this kind of product.
The bottom line
- In the expected price range
- Brushless motor
- High CFM for its voltage
- High MPH (120 MPH)
- Blower allegedly can reach full throttle in under one second
- Decent bare tool weight (4.9 lbs)
- Low autonomy (15 mins)
- Low power efficiency
