Description

Zoom on the Milwaukee MXF600-0

The Milwaukee MXF600-0 in use

The Milwaukee MXF600-0

With its cordless backpack design, the Milwaukee MXF600-0 is mostly aimed at homeowners with larger home grounds ranging from half-acre lawns to multi-acre estates, and professional landscapers providing regular landscaping work.

It is rated for a maximum air volume of 800 cubic feet per minute (CFM) and a maximum air speed of 190 miles per hour (MPH). These values mean that it should manage everyday yard leaves rather efficiently, but also have the power to handle denser material or small piles of heavier debris across lawns, patios, and garden paths.

With a 72V brushless motor, the MXF600-0 functions as a cordless blower, offering freedom of movement. Milwaukee claims that it can deliver power of a 63-cc gas backpack blower. This is a bare tool configuration, which means it is supplied without batteries. Its operation needs a 72V MX FUEL™ battery. Milwaukee states that with the MXFHD812 battery, the blower can run for up to 45 minutes on a single charge.

The Milwaukee MXF600-0 offers customizable airflow through its variable speed settings, along with integrated cruise control for convenient operation.

This cordless backpack blower weighs 16.8 lbs and carries most of its weight on the back, so the user only supports the tube with one hand. When using a MXFHD812 battery, the total weight of the blower reaches around 30.1 lbs. Its throttle is located on the tube, which allows to keep the left hand free. The telescopic tube enables quick and easy adjustments: shortening for tight spaces and extending as needed.

The throttle’s control panel features intuitive LED indicators and controls:

  • Mode Button & LEDs: Cycle between Low, Medium, and High power modes.
  • Battery Gauge: Four LEDs indicate the remaining battery level, including low-charge and empty-battery alerts.
  • ONE-KEY™ Indicator: Displays tool status related to connection, communication, or lockout via the ONE-KEY™ App.

The Milwaukee MXF600-0's performance versus other blowers

The following charts are provided to give you an idea how the key specs of the Milwaukee MXF600-0 compare with other cordless backpack leaf blowers.

Important: All figures are based on published specifications. Because manufacturers may test at different power levels or under different conditions, use the autonomy/runtime efficiency figures as a guideline only. Runtime and efficiency values are based on the use with the MXFHD812 battery.
  • The Milwaukee MXF600-0 fits squarely within the average weight range for cordless backpack blowers in the 60 to 80V range, at 16.8 lbs. Should weight be a deciding factor, the Greenworks Pro BPB80L2510 is worth a look at just 9.4 lbs the bare tool.
  • Upon exiting the nozzle, the air can reach speeds of up to 190 MPH, which is pretty much what is to be expected for battery-operated backpack blowers. If you wish to benefit from air expelled at the fastest possible speed, the Stihl BRA 600 and its 253 MPH could be an option to consider.
  • The airflow of Milwaukee MXF600-0 reaches 800 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute), placing it on par with other cordless backpack blowers with a comparable voltage. If air volume is important to you, the Senix BLBX6-M, with 950 CFM, could be in your good books.
  • Its battery provides a maximum autonomy of 45 minutes, placing the MXF600-0 on the lower end in terms of runtime among its cordless counterparts. To enjoy the best possible autonomy in this category, you could have a look at the Toro Revolution 66100 which offers up to 330 minutes of runtime.
  • While runtime is an important metric, it is closely tied to battery capacity. To understand performance more clearly, it’s also useful to look at runtime efficiency, how long the unit runs relative to its battery size. With its current setup, the Milwaukee MXF600-0 offers a lower level of runtime efficiency compared to the other compared battery-powered backpack models. If you are focused on getting more use per charge, the Toro Revolution 66100 offers the highest runtime efficiency, at 0.28 minutes per Wh.

Price comparison

As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 60-80V cordless backpack blowers, the Milwaukee MXF600-0 is on the expensive side of the price range.

While certainly not the cheapest of its kind, purchasing it could most likely also mean enjoying the reliability of a high-end product.

ONE-KEY™ App Integration

Milwaukee’s ONE-KEY™ app brings smart tracking and tool management to equipment like the MX FUEL™ Backpack Blower. Designed for ease of use, the app is available on both iOS and Android, helping you keep your tools secure, organized, and optimized for performance.

Key features include:

  • Bluetooth tool tracking: Automatically logs the blower’s last known location when it’s within range of your phone.
  • Remote lockout: Disable the blower if it’s lost or stolen.
  • Inventory management: Keep track of serial numbers, purchase records, maintenance logs, and user assignments in one centralized system.
  • Performance control: Set and lock the blower’s power mode (High, Medium, Low) remotely for consistent operation and battery management.

The bottom line

STRENGTHS:
  • Brushless motor
  • Cruise control
  • ONE-KEY App Integration
AVERAGE SPECS:
  • Decent bare tool weight (16.8 lbs)
  • Decent CFM (800 CFM)
  • Decent MPH (190 MPH)
WEAKNESSES:
  • On the expensive side
