The Sun Joe 24V-X2-BVM190
With its cordless handheld design, the Sun Joe 24V-X2-BVM190 is suited for homeowners with an average-sized yard that requires regular upkeep, generally around a quarter to half an acre.
It provides a maximum air volume rating of 150 cubic feet per minute (CFM) and an air speed of up to 190 miles per hour (MPH). To put it simply, it handles a limited amount of leaves and debris on a small lawn or garden area, suitable for light, occasional clearing.
With a 48V brushed motor, the 24V-X2-BVM190 functions as a cordless blower, offering freedom of movement. It comes with two 24V 4.0Ah batteries, and all batteries are required for operation. When fully charged, they should provide up to 50 minutes of runtime.
Featuring 6 speed settings, the 24V-X2-BVM190 offers users flexibility in adjusting airflow.
Weighing 8.8 lbs as a bare tool and 14 lbs with the two batteries, the handheld design allows the operator to control airflow with one hand.
After clearing leaves, the 24V-X2-BVM190 can switch to vacuum mode, collecting leaves into a handy bag (9.2 gallon bag included). Building on its vacuum capability, this unit’s mulching ratio of 8:1 can shrink 8 bags of leaves down to a single bag of mulch as they are vacuumed. The unit uses a metal impeller.

The Sun Joe 24V-X2-BVM190's performance versus other blowers
The following charts are provided to give you an idea how the key specs of the Sun Joe 24V-X2-BVM190 compare with handheld leaf blowers of similar voltage (between 36 and 48V).
- With a bare tool weight of 8.8 lbs, the Sun Joe 24V-X2-BVM190 stands out as a heavier option in the cordless handheld blowers in the 36 to 48V range. To enjoy the lowest possible weight in this category, you could have a look at the Black+Decker LSW40C which is only 2.4 lbs the bare tool.
- Forced air leaving this blower’s nozzle has been clocked at 190 MPH. That makes the 24V-X2-BVM190 average in terms of air speed for battery-operated handheld blowers between 36 and 48V. If you wish to benefit from air expelled at the fastest possible speed, the Makita GBU03ZV and its 487 MPH could be an option to consider.
- With a maximum airflow of 150 CFM (cubic feet per minute), this model is on the lower end in terms of air circulation for cordless handheld blowers with a comparable voltage. For the highest air volume, you may want to have a look at the Ryobi RY40HPLB01K, which boasts with 800 CFM.
- When fully charged, the 24V-X2-BVM190 offers up to 50 minutes of autonomy, which may be considered relatively short compared to cordless handheld units of comparable voltage. To enjoy the best possible autonomy in this category, you could have a look at the Stihl BGA 200 which offers up to 535 minutes of runtime.
- While runtime is an important metric, it is closely tied to battery capacity. To understand performance more clearly, it’s also useful to look at runtime efficiency, how long the unit runs relative to its battery size. The Sun Joe 24V-X2-BVM190 delivers a typical level of runtime efficiency, offering a balanced amount of operation time per unit of battery capacity. If runtime efficiency matters most to you, you might look at the Stihl BGA 50, which delivers a higher runtime efficiency of 0.8 minutes per Wh.
The bottom line
- Leaf collection bag included
- Metal impeller
- Decent MPH (190 MPH)
- Good power efficiency
- Brushed motor
- High bare tool weight (8.8 lbs)
- Low CFM (150 CFM)
- Low autonomy (50 mins)
