Description

The TB27BH gas leaf blower from Troy-Bilt® offers the power and convenience you desire with a 27cc 2-cycle full-crank engine. It features high volume air flow/velocity (450 CFM/205 MPH) for efficient clean up. Its SpringAssist™ technology allows for easier pull starts, while the Prime, Flip & Go™ starting system offers simple, reliable starting.

Zoom on the Troy-Bilt TB27BH

With its gas handheld design, the Troy-Bilt TB27BH is appropriate for homeowners with a patio or small yard that does not require frequent or large-scale cleanup.

It delivers up to 450 CFM of air volume and 205 MPH of air speed. Practically, this means the blower offers modest airflow but strong speed, making it effective for focused clearing on small yard areas, patios, or garden paths.

With its 27-cc 2-stroke engine, the TB27BH requires a 40:1 fuel-to-oil mix for operation. The Troy-Bilt TB27BH benefits from the proprietary SpringAssist™ starting system, which allows the operator to start the leaf blower with a slow and steady pull on the starter rope to greatly reduce the pulling effort needed. Its tank holds 14 fluid ounces, placing it in the average range among handheld blowers.

For those who wish to have complete control while operating their leaf blower, the TB27BH offers variable speed settings, and moreover, is also equipped with cruise control, which allows the user to comfortably continue blowing at their preferred setting.

Weighing 9.5 lbs (dry), the handheld design allows the operator to control airflow with one hand.

The Troy-Bilt TB27BH's performance versus other blowers

The following charts are provided to give you an idea how the key specs of the Troy-Bilt TB27BH compare with similar leaf blowers.

  • The Troy-Bilt TB27BH tips the scales at just 9.5 lbs, placing it among the more lightweight gas-powered handheld blowers. Should weight be a deciding factor, the Stihl BG 50 is worth a look at just 7.9 lbs.
  • Air exiting this blower's nozzle can reach speeds of 205 MPH, marking it as considerably swifter than most gas-powered handheld blowers. If you wish to benefit from air expelled at the fastest possible speed, the Poulan Pro PPBV25 and its 230 MPH could be an option to consider.
  • If air volume is an important feature, the TB27BH by Troy-Bilt will not disappoint. Its airflow maxes out at 450 CFM (cubic feet per minute), which is more powerful than most gas-powered handheld blowers. If air volume is important to you, the Ryobi JET FAN RY25AXB, with 520 CFM, could be in your good books.

Price comparison

As you can see from these interactive charts, the Troy-Bilt TB27BH is the cheapest of all gas handheld blowers.

It can therefore be a really good buy if you're looking to acquire a budget blower.

I have 2 of these. First one worked great for a little over 2 years and then the carburetor needed to be replaced. I had extended warranty so they replaced it. I bought another one with the money they gave me. It lasted 1 year before carburetor needed replacement. No service center near me. The repair centers near me do not have the proper tool. So, I have two blowers with the same diagnosis but no way to prove it to Troy-Bilt. I only used TruFuel in both.

    + PROS:
    • Was easy to start but not now. Had the power needed to blow wet leaves.
    - CONS:
    • Only works for a year or two.
