The Worx WG572 in use

The Worx WG572

With its cordless backpack design, the Worx WG572 is appropriate for homeowners with big residential yards that extend beyond half an acre and require ongoing upkeep as well as professionals providing regular landscaping work.

It is capable of expelling a maximum air volume of 800 cubic feet per minute (CFM). Its air speed is rated at 150 miles per hour (MPH). Practically, this means the blower should handle large amounts of leaves across yards, patios, or driveways while also having enough speed to move damp leaves, acorns, or small twigs.

With an 80V brushless motor, the WG572 operates as a fully cordless unit, giving freedom to move around your yard. The Worx WG572 is powered by Base Camp, a removable power system that is powered by four 20V Power Share batteries and offers up to 230 minutes of runtime. The unit comes with four 20V 4.0Ah batteries, yielding a total of 80V. All 4 batteries are required for operation.

To provide more control over their job to the user, the unit has a variable speed control setting and a turbo button. No matter the size of the job, the user can adjust the airflow of the Worx WG572 to match it. On top of that, maintaining the selected speed is effortless, as it also features cruise control.

At 17.2 lbs as a bare tool and 23.6 lbs with the four batteries, the blower’s backpack configuration allows longer operation by spreading weight across the body instead of concentrating it in the arms. Its throttle is located on the tube, which allows to keep the left hand free.

The Worx WG572's performance versus other blowers

The following charts are provided to give you an idea how the key specs of the Worx WG572 compare with other cordless backpack leaf blowers.

Important: All figures are based on published specifications. Because manufacturers may test at different power levels or under different conditions, use the autonomy/runtime efficiency figures as a guideline only.
  • In its category of cordless backpack blowers in the 60 to 80V range, the Worx WG572 delivers an average bare tool weight build at 17.2 lbs. Should weight be a deciding factor, the Greenworks Pro BPB80L2510 is worth a look at just 9.4 lbs the bare tool.
  • Air expelled from the blower's nozzle can reach speeds of 150 MPH, indicating a lower air speed, when compared to other battery-operated backpack blowers. For the fastest air speed in this category, you may want to consider the Stihl BRA 600, which can expell air at a velocity that can reach 253 MPH.
  • Its air volume, rated at 800 CFM, is typical among cordless backpack blowers with a comparable voltage. If air volume is important to you, the Senix BLBX6-M, with 950 CFM, could be in your good books.
  • The longevity of this model’s battery is notably higher than most cordless backpack units. It offers an autonomy of up to 230 minutes. If autonomy is an important factor for you, the Toro Revolution 66100 can run for up to 330 minutes and could be worth considering.
  • Because larger batteries naturally increase runtime, it can be helpful to consider runtime efficiency, a measure of how effectively a blower uses the energy available. The Worx WG572 delivers a typical level of runtime efficiency, offering a balanced amount of operation time per unit of battery capacity. If runtime efficiency matters most to you, you might look at the Toro Revolution 66100, which delivers a higher runtime efficiency of 0.28 minutes per Wh.

Price comparison

As you can see from these interactive charts, when compared to other 60-80V cordless backpack blowers, the Worx WG572 is on the cheap side of the price range.

It can therefore be a really good buy if you're looking to acquire a budget blower.
