Common specs comparison
Make & handling
- As the BR 800 X MAGNUM® and the BR 800 C-E MAGNUM® are both Stihl blowers, they benefit from the same level of quality and attention to detail. Both products have their throttle located on the tube of the blower, which allows you to keep your left hand free. However, the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM® features the Easy2Start technology.
- These two products are constructed as backpack blowers, allowing you to comfortably carry their powerful engines and massive fuel tanks.
- Both products are gas-powered blowers - gas is a reliable power source which you can refill in a matter of seconds.
CFM & MPH
- The two blowers have an identical CFM of 912. By providing you with the same volumes of air, both units should allow, on a hard surface, to move the same amount of dry leaves per minute.
- These two products have an identical MPH of 239. By providing you with the same air speeds, they should both be as efficient when blowing leaves on grass or lifting wet leaves and debris (acorns, etc.).
Weight & Noise rating
- The heavier Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM®, standing at 25.8 lbs, dwarfs the 23 lbs of the Stihl BR 800 X MAGNUM®, and may be more physically demanding to operate.
- Both devices have a noise rating of 78 dB. They should therefore be equally demanding on the ears.
Engine specs comparison
- Both devices have an identical fuel tank size of 67.6 fl.oz. They will therefore require you to refill them at roughly same rates.
- These two products have an identical engine displacement of 79.9cc. Thus, they consume comparable amounts of fuel per stroke and will provide you with similar output.
- The leaf blowers have a 4-cycle engine. Both feature a Stihl 4-Mix engine design though, and therefore require an oil/fuel mix.
Other features comparison
Vacuum ability
Neither the Stihl BR 800 X MAGNUM® nor the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM® has the ability to vacuum leaves. Thus, you will require another method of leaf collection.

Great job… can you do a comparison on different models? Like do I need an 800 or is a 450 good? Or 600 or 700…I have a 6.5 acre wooded lot…wood like to blow out the stone walls to get to see the bottom of the walls again, etc and also do the obvious yard blow outs
These leaf blower’s are not a 4 cycle engine as stated in the engine spec section
These blowers feature Stihl 4-Mix engine, which is a 4 cycle engine that requires an oil/fuel mixture. You can read more about it here (opens in a new tab).
So what kind of oil are you supposed to mix The containers that they sold me are 50 to 1 2 cycle engine oil
This is correct. It should be two-stroke engine oil, and gas/oil ratio is 50:1.
