Common specs comparison
Make & handling
- As the BR 800 X MAGNUM® and the BR 800 C-E MAGNUM® are both Stihl blowers, they benefit from the same level of quality and attention to detail. On both products, the throttle is situated on the blower tube, giving you the advantage of having your left hand available for other uses. However, the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM® features the Easy2Start technology.
- Designed as backpack blowers, both products boast substantial engines and sizable fuel tanks, making them easy to carry for extended periods.
- Both products, gas blowers, offer a swift refill system, saving you time on refueling and allowing you to efficiently manage large outdoor spaces.
CFM & MPH
- The two blowers have an identical CFM of 912. By providing you with the same volumes of air, both units should allow, on a hard surface, to move the same amount of dry leaves per minute.
- These two products have an identical MPH of 239. By providing you with the same air speeds, they should both be as efficient when blowing leaves on grass or lifting wet leaves and debris (acorns, etc.).
Weight & Noise rating
- The Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM®, with a weight of 25.8 lbs, outweighs the 23 lbs of the Stihl BR 800 X MAGNUM®, making it more physically taxing to operate and potentially causing more fatigue during extended use.
- With a noise rating of 78 dB for both devices, you can expect them to be equally considerate of your neighbors and equally comfortable for you to use.
Engine specs comparison
- Both devices feature a fuel tank size of 67.6 fl.oz. Consequently, you can expect similar refueling intervals for both.
- With matching engine displacements of 79.9cc, these products likely share similar fuel consumption rates per stroke, translating to comparable performance levels.
- The leaf blowers have a 4-cycle engine. Both feature a Stihl 4-Mix engine design though, and therefore require an oil/fuel mix.

Vacuum ability
With no leaf vacuuming functionality in either the Stihl BR 800 X MAGNUM® or the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM®, you'll have to find another way to gather leaves.

Great job… can you do a comparison on different models? Like do I need an 800 or is a 450 good? Or 600 or 700…I have a 6.5 acre wooded lot…wood like to blow out the stone walls to get to see the bottom of the walls again, etc and also do the obvious yard blow outs
These leaf blower’s are not a 4 cycle engine as stated in the engine spec section
These blowers feature Stihl 4-Mix engine, which is a 4 cycle engine that requires an oil/fuel mixture. You can read more about it here (opens in a new tab).
So what kind of oil are you supposed to mix The containers that they sold me are 50 to 1 2 cycle engine oil
This is correct. It should be two-stroke engine oil, and gas/oil ratio is 50:1.
