Feel, Fuel & Noise

Since the Echo PB-9010T and the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM® are made by different manufacturers, you may find variations in their overall construction and the technology employed.

  • Manufactured as backpack blowers, these two products are equipped with large engines and spacious fuel tanks, offering comfortable carrying while you work. Both products have their throttle located on the tube of the blower, which allows you to keep your left hand free.
  • Both products are gas-powered blowers - gas is a reliable power source which you can refill in a matter of seconds, offering you the freedom of movement to tackle larger outdoor spaces with ease.
  • With 26.4 lbs versus 25.8 lbs, the Echo PB-9010T is only marginally heavier, and the small gap in weight is unlikely to make a noticeable difference in fatigue or maneuverability.
  • Although the difference in noise rating between the Echo PB-9010T, registering at 80 dB, and the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM®, at 78 dB, appears minor, it can impact both the operator's experience and nearby neighbors.

CFM & MPH

  • In contrast, the Echo PB-9010T, with its CFM of 1110, outperforms the 912 CFM of the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM®, making it the preferred option for efficiently blowing leaves away.
  • With an MPH of 239, the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM® edges out the 220 MPH of the Echo PB-9010T, potentially improving its performance in leaf blowing and debris lifting tasks.

Engine specs

  • The Echo PB-9010T's fuel tank has a volume of 83.8 fl.oz., exceeding the 67.6 fl.oz. of the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM®. Therefore, you may store more fuel in the device and theoretically operate it longer, if their engines are equally demanding.
  • With matching engine displacements of 79.9 cc, these products likely share similar fuel consumption rates per stroke, translating to comparable performance levels. Each of these blowers requires a fuel/oil mix to operate, as the Echo PB-9010T features a 2-stroke engine, and the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM® is powered by the Stihl 4-Mix 4-stroke engine.

Other features

  • Both the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM® and the Echo PB-9010T lack leaf vacuuming features, meaning you'll need to employ another method for leaf collection.

  1. I have used both blowers. I currently own the pb9010 not because of the pricing but I feel it moves things better with the higher cfm. More air more movement.
