Make & handling

  • As the Echo PB-9010T and the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM® do not share the same manufacturer, their overall build and technology in use can vary. In this case, the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM® benefits from the Easy2Start technology. On both products, the throttle is situated on the blower tube, giving you the advantage of having your left hand available for other uses.
  • Manufactured as backpack blowers, these two products are equipped with large engines and spacious fuel tanks, offering comfortable carrying while you work.
  • Both products, gas blowers, offer a swift refill system, saving you time on refueling and allowing you to efficiently manage large outdoor spaces.

CFM & MPH

  • In contrast, the Echo PB-9010T, with its CFM of 1110, outperforms the 912 CFM of the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM®, making it the preferred option for efficiently blowing leaves away.
  • The Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM® with an MPH of 239 slightly exceeds the 220 MPH of the Echo PB-9010T. Thus, in comparison, the former expels air at a slightly higher speed, and should do a better job at blowing leaves on grass or lifting wet leaves and debris (acorns, etc.).

Weight & Noise rating

  • The Echo PB-9010T, weighing 26.4 lbs, edges slightly above the 25.8 lbs of the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM®, implying that while it's marginally heavier, you may notice a tad more comfort and ease in handling the latter.
  • Though the difference in noise levels between the Echo PB-9010T, rating 80 dB, and the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM®, standing at 78 dB, may seem insignificant, it could affect both the operator's comfort and nearby residents' tranquility.

Engine specs comparison

  • The Echo PB-9010T features a larger fuel tank, offering 83.8 fl.oz. compared to the 67.6 fl.oz. of the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM®. As a result, you have the advantage of storing more fuel, potentially extending runtime, assuming similar fuel consumption rates for their engines.
  • With matching engine displacements of 79.9cc, these products likely share similar fuel consumption rates per stroke, translating to comparable performance levels.
  • Each of these blowers requires a fuel/oil mix to operate, as the Echo PB-9010T features a 2-cycle engine, and the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM® is powered by the Stihl 4-Mix 4-stroke engine.

  1. I have used both blowers. I currently own the pb9010 not because of the pricing but I feel it moves things better with the higher cfm. More air more movement.
